Free Enterprise Trial – Important Points

Blueprism has recently launched its new trial and learning edition licenses to become familiar with the BluePrism product and features. Free Enterprise Trial comes with 2 Deployment Options – Cloud and On-Premises: both deployment options are free for up to 30 days and include one digital worker, up to 15 processes and come with free training material via the Digital Exchange. But this 30-day license will not be enough for the learning purposes so I will recommend you extend to the learning edition which will give you a free 90-day usage with the feature limited installation.

How to get and use the trial version license?

You can easily get the trial license if you sign up for Blueprism Digital exchange . Incase if you didn’t receive trial license after signing up you can contact dxsupport@blueprism.com.

After you installed the BluePrism software and a local database for the software, you need to configure the license using the below steps.

Upload your license file: When prompted, upload your license file ready for activation (you can also request a new one if required).

Retrieve and enter your validation code: After uploading your license, generate an activation code and follow the instructions to validate your license on the customer portal. You will be issued a validation code to enter which is the final step in the getting started process. Configuration complete

In case if you want to upgrade to the learning edition license, you can request through Learning edition. You can install the new license by clicking System-àLicense-àInstall new license.

Please note that you do not need to uninstall the BluePrism, if you are going from the Blue Prism Trial to Learning Edition, you may be required to remove the existing license first.  There is a Remove option next to each installed license.

Sometimes we face issues while reinstalling the software after uninstalling. If the standard uninstallation procedure is followed, we will not face any issues while reinstalling.

1)Uninstall Blueprism Software:

You can simply uninstall Blue Prism using the Windows Add or remove programs or run the installer and select the uninstall option.

2) Open the command line

Run the following commands to stop and remove the local database instance:

• “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\140\Tools\Binn\sqllocaldb” stop blueprismlocaldb
• “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\140\Tools\Binn\sqllocaldb” deleteblueprismlocaldb “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\140\Tools\Binn\sqllocaldb” stop blueprismlocaldb

3)Open Windows Explorer

Remove the following configuration folders:

• C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\BluePrism Limited

• C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\BluePrism Limited

• C:\ProgramData\BluePrism Limited

4) Microsoft SQL Server2017 Local DB

SQL Server 2017 Local DB is installed and set up during the Trial and Learning Edition setup. If this is not used for any other purpose and is no longer required, you can uninstall using the Windows Add or remove programs.
